"The Eddie" is a prestigious big-wave invitational surf contest, named in honor of the legendary Eddie Aikau. Aikau, a fearless lifeguard and surfer from Oahu's North Shore, became famous for his boldness in chasing the biggest swells and tackling the most treacherous waves. This season's opening ceremony will take place at Waimea Bay on December 6, 2024, officially kicking off the contest window.
Bali, Indonesia – Monday, August 19, 2024: The 2024 Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang is officially on. The Indian Ocean has delivered, providing Padang Padang with 4-6 foot waves, as our official forecast partner SwellNet predicted.

Finals day will be webcasted at ripcurl.com, and SwellNet is tracking a large SW groundswell predicted to hit Bali on August 27.
