About 2024 Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang Trials

The window for the Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang Trials has officially opened!

24 of Indonesia’s best male surfers and 4 of Indonesia’s best female suffers will compete for the final 6 spots in the Main Event at Padang Padang. The Trials window runs from June 15th to July 31st.

The Trials Final will be streamed LIVE from the channel via @ripcurl_indo IG Live. Stay tuned for the latest competition calls and all the action from Padang!

28 Local Invitees

This year’s Trials is a 6 week waiting period as a one-day event to be held at Padang Padang on the best day of waves from 15th June until the 31st July.

Full Breakdown Of The Men Competition Format:

• 24 Invited Local Men Surfers.
• NON-ELIMINATION - Round Robin 4 Man Heats.
• PRIORITY
• 30 min Heats
• You will surf Twice - (Total 2 Heats).
• Your Best 2 Waves count towards your Overall Heat Total (Maximum Score 20/20).
• The Top 4 Surfers with the Highest Total Heat Scores will advance into the RIP CURL CUP PADANG PADANG INVITATIONAL Local Grand Final.
• All Grand Finalists will qualify for the MAIN EVENT 2024.

Full Breakdown Of The Women Competition Format:

• 4 Invited Local Women Surfers.
• Priority heat.
• 40 minute Grand Final
• Your Best 2 Waves count towards your Overall Heat Total (Maximum Score 20/20).
• The First and Second placed Surfers will advance into the Invitational Main Event 2024.

We will be monitoring swells and will ensure the best conditions for this prestigious Trials Event. We will give all Surfers 48 hours notice before we are scheduled to run.
