Stories From The Search
Remember that time we…
That start of a sentence contains so much promise. So much excitement. So much life. It means you’ve done something worth remembering. Captured a unique experience you get to relive again and again with your friends and others. Spread the stoke.
Maybe that story will even inspire someone else to get out and create their own unforgettable experience. To live The Search.
It could be scoring perfect waves down some motorbike track in Indo. It could be getting in a sticky spot with border control because you accidentally overstayed your Visa in Morocco (whoops). It could be getting the crew together for a strike mission and catch up all in one. You might even be lucky enough to take a trip with someone who teaches you something new, or meet someone you admire.
Even the pros, who travel more than most, have stories from The Search which stand out in their minds. They don’t purely revolve around scoring surf. It’s more about the people you were with.
“I remember this Search trip I did with Owen and some other guys in France,” says Sammy Pupo. “We had the sickest waves, like I just remember having so much fun and getting a lot of barrels and just feeling a good time with Owen, because he seems like one of my biggest heroes since I was a little kid."
It was such a special moment for me and he probably didn't even know that. But it was probably one of the best days of my life and laughing it off with him. It's a day that I'll remember for sure.”
If you’re true to the Search, a story that starts with ‘remember that time we…” will likely end with “we should do something like that again soon.” The Search isn’t over just because you’re home for now. The Search is endless, full of excitement and promise and life.
Maybe it’s time to pack and go. Maybe it’s time to tell a new story you can add to those epic older ones.
Live The Search.
