Ketut Agus Wins Vans Bali Pro & Secures 2022 WSL Challenger Series Spot
Claiming his 2nd place at the Vans Bali Pro Final, Ketut Agus successfully secure his spot on 2022 WSL Challenger Series alongside his Olympian partner, Rio Waida, who held him off on final as the winner of Men’s Qualifying Series.
Ketut in wearing 3/2/One Ultimate 19" Mirage Boardshort later express his excitement after the final heat:
“After two long years I finally can compete at a WSL event again and it's so lovely to compete on my own backyard and I just want to say thank you all my sponsors for keeping faith by supporting me the last two years and also all my friends who supports me and keep pushing me all day to be better!Lastly I'm so excited to be at the Challenger Series this year! Finally travelling to compete again with my friends Rio Waida and Kailani Johnson for a WSL event. Hopefully we can make Indonesia proud!”
In the Final, Ketut finished the heat with a 6.80 score and let Rio won by 0.7 score gap. Fortunately, as there were two spots available in the Men’s Qualifying Series, he is eligible to seal the deal on his first-ever WSL Challenger Series.
Just one day after his final heat, he was off to compete on Men’s Open of Liga Surfing Indonesia which was held at the same spot (on March 11th-13th, 2022). Unfortunately, he could not make it to the final after a tight heat against Mega Artana and Febriansyah on semifinal.
After a full week of competition, Ketut is now on the search in Mentawai Island with his fella riders and surely will begin his preparation for the first stop of WSL Challenger Series on May 7th on the Gold Coast of Australia.
