Balian Water presents Indonesian Representatives to International Final in Bali
Presented by Balian Water, Rip Curl GromSearch National Final this year takes place from 8-10 November 2024, at the iconic Pererenan Beach in Canggu, Bali. This thrilling three-day event will showcase Indonesia’s rising surfing stars as they battle it out for top honors. The stakes are high, as Rip Curl and Balian Water are offering the ultimate prize for the U-16 Boys and Girls champions: tickets to represent Indonesia in the prestigious International Final in Bali the following week.
Originally launched in 1999 on Victoria's Jan Juc beach in Australia, the Rip Curl GromSearch started as a one-day competition and has since evolved into a global series for surfers aged 16 and under, known as 'grommets'. This event has become a vibrant arena for young surfers to compete, connect, and elevate their skills while having a blast with peers from all over the country. The GromSearch serves as both a competitive platform and a unique community for the next generation of surfing talent.
To be eligible to compete, participants must be of the specified age as of 31 December 2024. All competition divisions have quota limits, with the number of entries allocated on a first-in -first-serve basis and allowing surfers from all over the country to compete against their peers. After the registration closed earlier this week, a total of 120 grommet registered as participants in the 2024 Rip Curl GromSearch, divided into 3 age divisions. Boys U-16, U-14 and U-12 divisions and Girls U-16, U-14 and U-12 divisions.

This year's event, presented by Balian Water, will reward the U-16 Boys and Girls champions with the chance to represent Indonesia at the International Final, set to take place the following week at Pererenan Beach”, said Harrison Mann, Head of Marketing & Product at Rip Curl Indonesia.
Rip Curl GromSearch National Final 2024 is presented by Balian Water and supported by Mamaka by Ovolo, BGS Bali, Sensatia Botanicals, and Channel Islands Surfboard.
