Hawaiian charger Bethany Hamilton was awarded a wildcard spot into the 2012 #RipCurlCup Padang Padang Invitational. At that time, 22 year old Hamilton, from Kauai, Hawaii, became the first and only woman surfer to compete in the Rip Curl Cup.
