About Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang Trials 2022
After a two-year hiatus, The Cup finally returns and we’ve got the confirmed 32 local invitees ready to charge Padang Padang.
Today, July 1st, marks its first day of Trials Waiting Period until the 31st of July 2022.
This year’s Trials is a one-day Non Elimination Competition and will be held at Padang Padang on the best day of waves from 1st July until the 30th July.
It is a 4 week waiting period and it is highly likely surfers will be surfing empty PUMPING Padang Padang in 2 heats.
Full Breakdown of The Competition Format:
- 32 Invited Local Surfers.
- Non-Elimination - Round Robin 8 Man Heats.
- No Priority.
- 1 hour heats.
- Surfer will surf twice - (total 2 heats).
- Best 2 Waves count towards Overall Heat Total (Maximum Score 20/20).
- Top 8 Surfers with the Highest Total Heat Scores will advance into the RIP CURL CUP PADANG PADANG INVITATIONAL MAIN EVENT 2022.
- In addition the Surfer with the Highest Overall Heat Total from a combined 2 wave score, will be deemed the RIP CURL CUP PADANG PADANG TRIALS CHAMPION 2022.
We will be monitoring swells and will ensure the best conditions for this prestigious Trials Event. We will give all Surfers 48 hours notice before we are scheduled to run.
